WSO2 SOA Enablement Server for Java™ is a Web services runtime environment that supports industry standards such as SOAP 1.1, SOAP 1.2, and WSDL 1.1.
WSO2 SOA Enablement Server for Java can run as a stand-alone service or be deployed in J2EE application servers — such as BEA WebLogic, IBM Websphere, and Sun ONE Application Servers — in addition to a variety of Java Servlet engines. WSO2 SOA Enablement Server for Java is highly optimized and is interoperable with other leading Web services platforms, such as Microsoft .NET. WSO2 SOA Enablement Server also enables the creation of a unified Web services security and management framework. The architecture of WSO2 SOA Enablement Server for Java is depicted in Figure 1

WSO2 SOA Enablement Server for Java™ was previously named WASP Server for Java. The term 'WASP' appears at many places in the code and in the variable WASP_HOME, to maintain backward compatibility.
