Version: SNMP version used by this SNMP Agent. The SNMP version can be changed by selecting one from the combo box.

Port: Set the SNMP Agent's port in the text box. By default, port 161 is used.

[Important]Important

Advanced permissions, such as the root permission for UNIX users, are needed to start the SNMP agent on a port with a number less then 1024.

system.sysObjectID (v1): This value is used as an Enterprise Object ID in the SNMPv1 trap.

IP Address (v1): Enter the IP address of this agent. It is used as one of the fields in the SNMPv1 trap. If this field is left empty, the local IP address will be used instead.

engineID (v3): This field represents the agent's administratively unique identifier for its SNMP engine. If this field is empty, then the first IP address found for the host name of the machine will be used.

Max PacketSize: The maximum number of bytes in a packet. Please note that the maximum packet size of the Ethernet is 1500 bytes.

Inform Timeout [ms]: This is the timeout value in milliseconds, set for the agent to send INFORM request.

Inform Retries: The number of retries after timeout for INFORM request can be set here.

Engine Boots (v3): This field records the number of agent reboots. This value is updated every time when the agent restarts provided the agent is an SNMPv3 agent.

Use Thread Pool: In order to improve performance, a thread pool can be used. Tick the check box to use it. Please note that using a thread pool means using more system resources as well.
