SNMP Agent can serve as an SNMP proxy server for other agents. This page defines what SNMP requests will be passed on to which SNMP agents.
The Proxy Table contains all necessary properties such as: their IP address, port, type, subtree, timeout, read community and write community.
After clicking on the Edit icon or Add Proxy button, the following properties of the SNMP proxy server can be edited on this page, as shown in Figure 9.
IP Address: Type in the IP address or the host name of the agent that is being proxied.
Port: The listening port number of the agent being proxied.
Type: Select the preferred View type from the radio buttons labeledincluded or excluded. Each subtree view in the MIB view is specified as being included or excluded. That is, the MIB view either includes or excludes all object instances contained in that subtree.
Subtree: This field defines the subtree Object ID. A subtree is a node in the MIB's naming hierarchy including all of its subordinate elements.
Timeout: The timeout value in milliseconds for sending query requests to the agent that is being proxied.
Read Community: The community names for SNMP GET / GETNEXT / GETBULK operations. Separate multiple names with commas. All community names are case insensitive. If the value is empty, then no GET / GETNEXT / GETBULK operations are allowed.
Write Community: The community names for the SNMP SET operation. Separate multiple names with commas. All community names are case insensitive. If the value is empty, then no SET operation is allowed.
