Settings related to SNMP Version 1 and SNMP Version 2 can be maintained by selecting the relevant sub-items: Communities and Trap Sink. These settings, however, take effect only if the WSO2 SOA Enablement Server SNMP Agent acts as an SNMPv1 or SNMPv2 agent.
Set the read and write communities on this page. Please bear in mind the following limitations:
Names have to be separated by comma if multiple communities are specified.
All community names have to be case insensitive.
If the Read Community value is empty, then no GET / GETNEXT / GETBULK operation is allowed.
If the Write Community value is empty, then no SET operation is allowed.
The Read and Write Community names can be set in their fields.
SNMP Agent can send traps to various trap receivers. These trap receivers and their properties are displayed in the Trap Sink table.
The Trap Sink table contains information on hostname, port, community, SNMP version and whether the SNMP INFORM request is sent instead of a trap to the receiver(s).
![]() | Note |
---|---|
When an INFORM is sent, the receiver sends a response back to the sender acknowledging receipt of the event. |
After clicking on the
Edit icon or Add Trap Sink button, the
following properties of the trap receiver can be edited on the page that
appears (Figure 4):
Hostname: This field should contain the host name or IP address of the trap receiver.
Port: Represents the port number of the trap receiver. The default value is 162.
Community: Set the community of the trap.
Version: SNMP version of the trap receiver. Select the preferred version from the combo box.
Is Inform: This field can determine whether an SNMP INFORM request is sent instead of a trap to the trap receiver(s). In order to use the INFORM request, tick the relevant check box.
